I am disillusioned by Bulawayo City Council. Council officials seem to focus mainly on water disconnections and anything that makes urban dwellers shiver at the sight of their staff doing the rounds around the city. They have completely forgotten about road maintenance and general service of the city.
The state of Jungle Road off Victoria Falls Road into Highmount, part of Richmond, Harrisvale and Trenance is deplorable. The surprising thing is that this same road is used daily by council big wigs and others on their way to Aisleby Farm. This I believe is one of the council's biggest projects.
The officials and all concerned don't seem to mind the potholes and the general state of that road. I would advise the city council to remove whatever remains of the tar and revert to dust Our cars are being damaged.
On the same note if the council cannot maintain one strip of road that they also use what is going to happen when the new cemetery opens and people troop to Trenance on a daily basis to bury their dead?
Just take a look at the state of the Victoria Falls Road from Amakhosi to West Park Cemetery, there are already potholes yet that road is not very old.
The state of the road to the new cemetery just after the State House gate is already bad. The area near Hide Out is in desperate need of attention but nothing has been done. How then are we going to manage with the expected influx of traffic?
Please council take us seriously and improve on service delivery and we will improve on bill payments.
